Steve passed away in 1985. Steve and I went out with each other for almost two years. Unfortunately, toward the end of that time his life started to really spiral down, causing a series of events which ultimately led to his death at a very young age. He was not only a good looking guy, but one of the nicest and funniest people I knew in high school. We had some really great times together which I will always remember. Sadly, our roads would have to go in different directions. I could no longer handle watching him slowly kill himself. He did try at times to get his life on track, but that just never happened. His mom and I regret that we could not help him more, but the bottom line is that it really needed to come from him. His mom did everything that she possibly could to help Steve and I know the pain she that she experienced with the whole situation (even more now being a mom).
Some people touch our lives and we are never ever the same. He was one of those people for me.
I hope Steve has finally found peace.
